Development of high-performance elastomers as fluoropolymer substitutes

The HATE-Fluor project as part of the Fraunhofer PREPARE initiative is pursuing the development of fluorine-free elastomers as a sustainable alternative to fluoropolymers, particularly for demanding technical applications that require high thermal and chemical resistance. These materials are particularly essential in sealing technology - for example in hydrogen applications or vacuum systems for photovoltaics.

The project focuses on the development of tailor-made, fluorine-free coated elastomers that offer maximum stability thanks to innovative antioxidants and optimized formulations, thus contributing to the creation of environmentally friendly, high-performance materials for the future.
